Signor Raoul Aguilera at The Tobacco Bowl

Mark, David Meyer (our good friend and the guy who created our website!) and I spent a Saturday afternoon at The Tobacco Bowl, our local brick & mortar shop. It’s owned and managed by Richard Alley. Richard is as nice a guy as you could want to meet and he puts a lot of time and energy into making his store a fun place to be. On this occasion, Richard brought in Al Argenti from Perdomo Cigars and Al brought Master cigar roller Signor Raoul Aguilera with him. We watched Signor Aguilera hand roll cigars and then sampled their La Tradición Perdomo Reserve. Great cigars and a great time! – T

If you ever come to Memphis, be sure to check out The Tobacco Bowl. It’s been frequented by the likes of William Faulkner and Shelby Foote so you’ll be in good company (you can even purchase Mr. Foote’s favorite pipe tobacco “Shiloh”). Some of The Tobacco Bowl’s other well known patrons have included famous father Vernon Presley, Charlie Chan’s No. 1 son, Keye Luke; movie director Milos Forman, producer Michael Hausman, and U.S. Senator and actor Fred Thompson. Actors Vincent Schiavelli, Richard Roundtree, Joaquin Phoenix and Robert Patrick have also paid it a visit.

The Master – cigar roller Signor Raoul Aguilera! Signor Aguilera got his training at the old Partagas factory in Havana.

Mark and David sample their La Tradición Perdomo Reserves.

Mark and Tim enjoy their pipes.
